Margaret E. Garner, Esq. is a managing partner at the firm Garner Asaad, P.A. in Tampa, Florida. She has been a licensed attorney in Florida since 2010, and for the last ten years of her practice, has focused almost exclusively on first party property litigation and appeals on behalf of insureds in this state. Over that time, she has assisted thousands of clients in recovering the insurance proceeds needed to restore their homes and businesses after hurricanes, tornadoes, hail storms, floods, and fires, and has handled multiple bad faith claims against carriers. In addition to her trial practice, Ms. Garner has personally handled over ten appeals in Florida District Courts of Appeal, with a recent appeal resulting in written opinion in favor of her client in Apex Roofing and Restoration, LLC v. United Services Automobile Association, 399 So. 3d 354 (Fla. 1st DCA 2024). Over the years, Ms. Garner has been asked to present or speak at various insurance industry events, including the Florida Association of Public Insurance Adjusters annual conference where she co-presented with Mr. Paul Beers of GCI Consultants in 2019, as well as the “Win the Storm” Conference where she was invited to speak as a member of the multi-state Attorney Panel at three annual conferences. She has also advocated for consumers in this state in Tallahassee, speaking to legislators and presenting at public Senate committee hearings on multiple occasions advocating for insurance consumer protection and for greater transparency in how rates are determined for policyholders of this state.
