John “Johnny” Walker Jr.
Appraiser & Umpire
John “Johnny” Walker Jr. is an independent and public insurance adjuster licensed in Washington State and an appraiser with MAS Solutions and Claims.Coach. A second-generation appraiser with more than 20 years of industry experience, John is widely recognized for his expertise in insurance appraisal, valuation disputes, and complex claim investigations across auto, property, commercial, and specialty lines.
John’s professional foundation was built early, working in high-volume body shops under the mentorship of his father, where he developed a deep technical understanding of vehicle repair standards, damage analysis, and real-world market valuation. That hands-on background continues to inform his work as an appraiser, umpire, and expert witness in contested insurance matters.
Throughout his career, John has been named in thousands of appraisal clause disputes, including matters involving automobile valuation, diminished value, heavy equipment, property, contents and mitigation. He has served in key roles during major catastrophe responses, including Superstorm Sandy and various floods, providing field, appraisal, and investigative support in high-severity loss environments. He has also provided testimony and expert opinions in arbitration, deposition, and court proceedings.
John is NFIP certified and WIND-certified as both an appraiser and umpire. He holds multiple state licenses and has been entrusted with assignments on behalf of policyholders, carriers, and third-party administrators. His professional leadership includes service as Secretary, Vice President, and President of the Puget Sound Adjusters Association, as well as participation on industry review and grievance committees.
He holds a Bachelor of Science in Biology from Brigham Young University and an Associate Degree from Everett Community College. Efficient in Spanish and Portuguese, John brings a disciplined, methodical, and ethically grounded approach to every assignment. He resides in the Seattle metropolitan area with his wife and children and remains actively involved in professional education and community service.
